It’s In the Bag- Homemade Microwave Popcorn
Serves: 2-3
  1. In a small microwavable bowl, place butter, covered. Microwave for 15 seconds, or until melted. Set aside.
  2. Zest one lime. Add to the melted butter.
  3. Slice lime in half and squeeze juice into melted butter, stir mixture. Set aside.
  4. In a brown, lunch sized paper bag, place a level ⅓ cup of popcorn kernels. Fold top of bag down into three ½ inch folds.
  5. Place bag upright in microwave. Set for 2½ minutes, standing near the entire time. Listen until popcorn “pops” are 2-3 seconds apart, stopping immediately if done. Stop at any time during process, if needed.
  6. Remove bag carefully from microwave. Open bag slowly, pointing away from face, to let out steam.
  7. In a medium sized bowl, pour in popped corn.
  8. Immediately pour in melted butter mixture; stir to coat popcorn. Add parmesan cheese, stir.
  9. Salt, to taste.
- Choose your own spice combinations to add to melted butter, such as a chili fiesta blend powder with cheddar cheese powder; or cheddar cheese powder with bacon crumbles.
